Dear Parents:
Thank you all so much for your support of our band. It means so
much to our kids and
enables our kids to succeed. Not only your vocal presence in the
stands at home games
and Mo West, but for everything you do. From the parents who
haul the trailer and
equipment, to donuts at parades, to decorating our room before
Mo West, to the
incredible caravan, for parents who made lunches, who brought
hamburgers to a game,
countless help with gauntlets and shoes, setting up equipment on
the field and helping to
haul it all off, placing signs on the lockers, and those beloved
hand warmers. Those hand
warmers maybe saved us the most. They not only warmed hands, but
help keep valves
from freezing. Our kids have worked so hard this year, and we've
had so much good
student leadership, it makes me extra happy that they captured
first place. A very special
thanks to our student teacher Adrienne Kehl who took the flags
under her wing to help
bring in one of the best scores in auxiliary. Special thanks to
our McGiver; Mr. Fortune
who makes all our special effects work and helps us out with so
many ideas. I am
always impressed and so appreciative of the band parents for all
they do, and I am
impressed by how hard our kids will work. They never give up and
I think that's great.
We won our class, and beat everyone in the next highest class,
(3A) and scored higher
than one of the 5A schools, too.
We run our show Oct 16 and Thursday Oct 29 is our Senior night
and banquet. Please
feel free to join us in the WHS cafeteria at 10 PM for our
banquet on the 29th. The kids
will receive their First Place medals that evening. We will
supply free pizza and drinks
for the kids and parents can purchase food for a small fee.
Banquet will be over by 11:30 pm- we have school the next day!
We are anticipating
post season play and that's always very exciting. We will go to
the games - even if away - and
play to support our team. Come join us!
Sincerely,
Pat Setser
