Uniform Turn-in Information

Marching Jackets Turn in Information (ALL students): (Does not need to be dry-cleaned again)

Wednesday, April 25: All Woodwinds

Tuesday, May 1: All Brass/Percussion

SENIOR CONCERT UNIFORM INFORMATION:

Dry-cleaned and with receipt (jacket and pants) due the week of May 7-11. These will go on the obligation list if they are not returned by May 11.

Seniors will need to dress up (prom dresses, suit and tie etc) for our May 15 concert.

Announcements

Band Group/Individual Pictures: Friday, February 24, 7:30am

-Students should come to school in Concert Uniform.
-After pictures they will have an opportunity to change.
-Attached is the ordering information for pictures.
-Must be paid for on the 24th
-If writing a check you need to write your Driver's License # and DOB on the check

Chicago Trip Meeting: Tuesday, February 28, 7:00pm in the band room

-All students and Chaperones should be in attendance at this meeting to discuss the details of the band trip
-A notary will be on hand for any last minute medical forms
-A brief Chaperone meeting will be held following the trip meeting

Pre-Trip Concert: Tuesday, March 6, 7pm in Auditorium

-Concert Attire
-Students in band room at 6:30

Snake Saturday Parade: Saturday, March 10 (still waiting on exact bus/leave time)

-March the parade
-Lunch Provided by Band Parents
-Rehearsal from 1-4pm with Dr. Steven Moore, Chair of the Music Dept. at UCM

Band Trip to Chicago: March 14-17

District Solo/Ensemble Festival: Saturday, March 31 at Liberty HS

-Schedule out when we get much closer to the event

NKC Pre-Contest Concert: Tuesday, April 3, 7:00pm at Oak Park High School

-All schools will be represented at the concert. Concert order TBD

3. Trip payments

Please get your final trip payments to Mr. Williams ASAP. The final payment is due

4. Health forms

Health forms for the trip are due by January 24.

5. Band Parent Meeting

Tuesday, January 24, 7pm in band room.

6. Solo/Ensembles need to begin practicing. Sign-ups for help after school will begin next week, 1/17-1/20.

Announcements for 12/12-12/16

1. Sectional for ALL symphonic band students: Tuesday Dec 13 6:45-7:15

2. December 13 is our Concert. Call time is 6:30pm in the band room, in full CONCERT uniform

3. If your student has not changed out their uniform please have uniforms at school on Monday so we can do that.

4. Wednesday December 14: DICE photography will be at Winnetonka to take our band picture.  Dice Flyer

-Students will need to bring their full CONCERT uniform to school for the picture. It is taken during class. As in the past, students will be able to take personal pictures as well.
-Attached is a pricing guide for the pictures. All pictures must be paid for on December 14.

2. Uniforms Due THIS Week

Please bring back to school the following parts of your uniform to exchange for the concert uniform.

- Jacket
- Hat
- Gauntlets
- Red Bag
- Hanger

3. Trip Payment #3 due Monday December 5.

This is a "B" day so December 6 is OK to turn in payments as well.

4. GVB is posted as of 12/2

First game is Thursday, December 8. Call time is 5:00pm in the band room. Schedule will be posted to website soon.

5. Winter Concert is December 13

Jazz Band, Concert Band, and Symphonic Bands will be performing. Concert begins at 7:00pm

Upcoming Items

1. Band parent meeting scheduled for November 29. This is also when the coffee orders are due.

2. GVB auditions are November 30 and December 1 after school. Music and information on these are available in the band room.

2. Band uniforms need to be dry-cleaned. Receipts along with the marching half of the uniform can be brought back to school starting December 5 and we will trade out them for the concert half.

3. Next trip payment is Due December 5. This is a B day, but Mr. Williams will be available to accept payments in the morning. You may also bring payments on December 6th.

4. Winter concert is December 13. All bands will be performing.

Chicago Trip Contract

Every student needs to fill out a contract even if they do not plan to attend the band trip. Contracts are due Friday, October 7 to Mr. Williams.
Down Payment is Due no later than Wednesday, October 12. Make checks payable to Winnetonka Band Parents. PayPal is accepted.

If you would like to place an order, please e-mail Lisa DuBose with your order information at lisa.dubose@fisglobal.com or you may print the order form and bring to the next band meeting on September 27, 2011. Please make checks payable to the Winnetonka Band Parents. No orders will be accepted after the evening of September 27th, as I will be turning in the order the next day.

WHS Pride Band Fundraiser - August 16th – September 12th

Dates to turn in money & books and to pick-up more books:

o August 19th, Thursday at the Pool Party (8-10pm)
o August 23rd, Tuesday at the Band Parent Meeting (6:45pm-end)
o August 30th, Tuesday at 4:30-5:00pm before The Rally (was 9/8/11)

Note from Mr. Williams

Parents,

I hope that the start of school has gone well for your household! The band has been working very hard through camp and I am very excited about the continued progress we will be making on our show. THANK YOU to Band Parents for the support with water and the concession stand during camp. It is great to have all the help and support for the program. Here are a few reminders for you.

1. 7am rehearsals begin Friday August 26, and will be every "A" Day

2. 6:30am rehearsals begin Monday August 29, and will be every "B" Day (these will end after marching season)

3. Please order Dinkles (www.dinkles.com) ASAP. Students will need these for our first football game September 9.

4. FALL RALLY DATE CHANGE: the Rally is now Tuesday August 30. Call time for students is 4:45pm and the rally begins at 5:30pm. This should not be a long event. Students will need to be in FULL uniform for this event. If you have not gotten dinkles, please wear the blackest shoe you have for the performance.

5. All students need to download the All-State audition packet found on this website ASAP. This is material we will be using in class.

I look forward to all that we will be doing this year as we continue to create great music at Winnetonka!
