Dear Pride Band Pride's Proud Parents:
Congratulations to you all for a very successful March-a-thon.
We
had 56 kids participate. We made great progress on basic
marching
skills, drumline and flag routines! It was a long night, but
everyone
was cooperative, we had some fun, we had some great food and
hopefully
many of you earned some $$ for Carnegie. It was nice to get a
chance
to see everyone and to meet our new band and flag members.
Special
thanks to everyone who was a part of this venture, from students
who
came ready to learn, to students who stepped up to be leaders,
to
injured and ill students who still found a way to participate.
Super
special thanks to our parents who always help us succeed. Every
trophy
in that band room was earned by the band AND the parents. Our
parents organized all that good food, no small feat, the
lighting,
the security, the first aid, and moral support! You can still
get
pledges, just tell them how long you worked- 12 hours! Collect
your
money and bring it to band camp. Checks can be made out to
Winnetonka
Band. Band camp begins on Monday Aug 2 at 8:30 am.
Special thanks to Ms. Epperson for helping us and to Mr. Fortune
for
coming in over the summer.
We have a shorter band camp this year due to some conflicts- so
we
will be making the most of our time. Our march a thon gives us a
GREAT
head start.
We have a performance for our band parents on Wednesday 11.
Watch
our website for details. There will be an important meeting
regarding
Carnegie Hall that evening.
